Mr. Samnang Ou received his Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering from the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC), Cambodia and Master of Engineering in Logistics and Supply Chain Systems Engineering at Sirindhorn International Institute of Technology (SIIT), Thammasat University, Thailand. He has been working in many research projects related to product design and development, vendor-managed inventory (VMI), production scheduling, supply chain contracts (buy-back contract) using response surface methodology (design of experiment), cafe beam supply chain management using decision tree technique (machine learning technique), hybrid fuzzy inference and machine learning methods in image classification/mining, and others. His research interests include vehicle routing problems (VRP), time series forecasting by using machine learning techniques, and decision-making and optimization in supply chain management.
During the first year at Paragon.U, he was involved in the Higher Education Improvement Project (HEIP) as Industrial Engineering focal point besides teaching and academically advising students. The HEIP project is funded by the World Bank and the Royal Government of Cambodia to improve the quality of teaching in the STEM field.
He is currently pursuing PhD degree at Malaysia-Japan International Institute of Technology (MJIIT), University Teknologi Malaysia (UTM), Malaysia. His PhD research area is about the order picking problems, warehouse and supply chain management, specifically picker/workforce scheduling problems of order picking system by using the combination of genetic algorithm (GA) and reinforcement learning techniques.
