Paragon.U is proud of its faculty’s commitment to advancing knowledge across the wide range of disciplines represented by both its full-time and part-time professors and lecturers. From civil engineering to international relations to computer science, Paragon.U’s faculty are active in the national, regional, and global research communities in their respective fields.
Research at Paragon.U is overseen by the Office of Research in tandem with the Research Committee. As part of its mission, the university seeks to expand its linkages with both individual scholars as well as institutions in areas of common research interest. Paragon.U also maintains an “Research Affiliate” program that works to support foreign scholars planning or expecting to be resident in Cambodia for the conduct of field research. For scholars interested in affiliating with Paragon.U during their time in Cambodia, please see our policies(↪) and application form(↪). Pargon.U has hosted scholars from across the globe and maintains Memorandums of Understanding supporting collaborative research with universities in Southeast Asia and beyond(↪).
Paragon.U in cooperation with the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung(↪) collaborate in the organization of a monthly research colloquium where scholars (both junior and senior) are invited to present their research for discussion among the broader academic and think tank communities in Phnom Penh.
Finally, Paragon.U is part of the Comparative Education Society of Cambodia(↪), organized by the Cambodia Development Research Institute (CDRI) working with other institutions in the kingdom to better understand the needs, challenges, and future of education across all tiers and their development.

Paragon.U is working to build the next generation of Cambodian researchers, and places significant emphasis on research and research methods training in both its undergraduate and graduate curricula. Below are several of the top scoring theses written by Paragon.U students over the last two years.
Paragon.U is fully committed to ensuring that all research conducted by its faculty and students are consistent with global best practices in terms of research ethics. While Cambodia does not yet have a full human subject/Institutional Review Board (IRB) system, when research is conducted that falls within the area of human subjects, review and approval must be received by the University Research Committee. Visiting scholars are expected to have received IRB or equivalent approval from their home institutions.
