Mengleang Lay is a faculty member and board member at Paragon International University. Prior to his appointment at ParagonU, he was in a research group called Impact Engineering. His research was funded by the Australian Research Council Committee in collaboration with The University of Melbourne and Swinburne University of Technology. The project focused on large-scale impact experiments of full-scale reinforced concrete walls to develop simple solutions to structural designs of barriers. Moreover, he was also a member of a startup company called MEDIKEY. His team tailored an existing technology to assist the FinTech industry in combating money laundering.

During Mengleang’s first year at ParagonU, he was closely involved in the Higher Education Improvement Project (HEIP) besides teaching and academically advising students. The HEIP project is funded by the World Bank and the Royal Government of Cambodia to improve the quality of teaching in the STEM field. Furthermore, his team is also established partnerships, exchange programs, and a 2+2 program with overseas universities for engineering students.
