Paragon International University has partnered with DKSH for the first time to offer Full-Program Scholarships to two underprivileged Cambodian students with exceptional outstanding academic records. This collaboration aims to provide these students with a four-year undergraduate degree education at Paragon International University, contributing to societal development through education under DKSH’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The scholarship recipients, Bra LyHeng from Siem Reap and Heng Hanavotey from Kampong Cham, were selected for their academic potential, dedication, and commitment to community service. Both students have expressed gratitude for this life-changing opportunity to pursue higher education in their chosen fields.

Scholarship Recipients Share Their Journey

Bra LyHeng, who has enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration program, shared his excitement and appreciation:
“This scholarship has opened doors to a brighter future for me. I am deeply grateful to DKSH and Paragon International University for recognizing my potential and supporting my educational journey. I encourage all young people to seize opportunities, work hard, and contribute to society through education and service.”

LyHeng was selected for his outstanding academic achievements, active community involvement, and creative potential. His volunteer experience and openness to new ideas further impressed the selection committee.

Heng Hanavotey, now pursuing a degree in International Trade and Logistics, highlighted the impact of the scholarship on her family:
“With this scholarship, I can study at a university that offers a high-quality, internationally recognized curriculum. This program not only eases the financial burden on my family but also motivates me to strive for excellence and give back to society.”

Hanavotey was chosen for her dedication, strong work ethic, and compelling application essay, which demonstrated her readiness and capability to excel in her studies.

A Commitment to Education and Societal Development

Dr. Bulat Akhmetkarimov, Rector of Paragon International University, emphasized the importance of this partnership:
“This is the first collaboration between Paragon International University and DKSH, and it reflects our shared commitment to transforming the lives of Cambodian youth through education. We deeply appreciate DKSH’s generosity and belief in the power of education to drive societal progress.”

Dr. Akhmetkarimov highlighted the rigorous selection process, which prioritized students from underprivileged backgrounds who demonstrated high academic performance, strong ethics, and a commitment to personal and community development.

The scholarship program covers 100% of the students’ tuition and registration fees for four years, with Paragon International University and DKSH sharing the costs equally. Eligible candidates were required to meet strict academic criteria, including achieving A or B grades on the high school diploma or Baccalaureate exams.

A Call for Broader Collaboration

In conclusion, Dr. Akhmetkarimov called on other private companies and institutions to join hands with Paragon International University in offering similar scholarship programs to support underprivileged students and nurture skilled human resources for Cambodia’s future.

“By investing in education, we invest in the future of our nation. Together, we can create opportunities that empower young people to achieve their dreams and contribute meaningfully to society,” he stated.

This scholarship program is a pioneering step in bridging the gap between corporate responsibility and educational advancement, setting a precedent for sustainable partnerships that benefit both individuals and the community at large.
