Seakyeng Nget is a senior student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in International Trade and Logistics at Paragon International University. She recently completed her exchange program at SRH University Heidelberg in Germany, a partner university with Paragon International University.
Seakyeng’s journey to Germany was filled with excitement and challenges. With the support of the International Cooperation Office at Paragon International University, she successfully navigated the application process and met the necessary academic requirements for the Exchange Program at SRH University Heidelberg.
Seakyeng shares her Experience as follows:
Seakyeng had always dreamed of studying abroad to broaden her knowledge and immerse herself in a diverse environment. This desire fueled her eagerness to seek support from the International Cooperation Office at Paragon.U. The process of preparing for her overseas study was challenging. From achieving the required GPA to selecting countries and universities and navigating the nomination process, she received invaluable support from the International Cooperation Director.
During her time in Germany, Seakyeng encountered many cultural shocks. The education system there differed greatly from what she used to in Cambodia. In Germany, there was a strong emphasis on independent learning, and students had access to abundant resources for exploration and research. The university offered vibrant facilities and creative lectures given by instructors from around the world who shared their unique perspectives and teaching methods.
Adapting to the new academic environment was just the beginning. The adjustments to daily life were equally exciting for Seakyeng. She was fascinated by German culture, and even simple interactions with locals made her realize that overcoming challenges in a new country was not a burden but a thrilling adventure. She encountered kind supports from her international friends and instructors, who blended education with cultural exchange.
Despite the initial struggles, spending one semester abroad allowed Seakyeng to embrace new possibilities she never thought she could experience back home. She learned to open her heart and mind, accept different norms, and enjoy every moment.
Last but not least, Seakyeng recommends this program to her fellow students. She believes it is an incredible opportunity for personal growth, friendship, and discovery. Students will learn much about themselves and create wonderful memories that will last a lifetime. This educational exchange is a journey that will remarkably shape their future.
